Lime Tree

citrusfreakJanuary 23, 2011

Hi all! Hope all of your trees are doing well this winter. I bought a semi-dwarf lime tree (I think Mexican) this summer from Lowes. I have it indoors now and it is doing very well. It is currently filled with blooms.

My question is should I leave the blooms on it and let it grow fruit? I read someone on this forum that it is best not to let it grow fruit the first year so it can focus on root growth. What should I do?

Hey Citrusfreak!

How's your figs doing by the way? Oh , yes, citrus, lol

Personally I wouldn't worry about it at all and let it do it's natural thing. I would enjoy the fragrance from those flowers while I am at it too!

Good to see you

Mike..:-)

Thanks Mike! I'll let it do its thing. The figs are doing well I guess. One is outside which I covered for the winter. The other is potted in the garage. My citrus are doing very well also. I just ordered a bonsai from a local nursery so I'll be getting that before summer. Do you know anything about them?
I saw the winter pics you posted. They are gorgeous. And good job with that ponderosa. It looks great!
