Persimmons are showing color. Need to protect!

Suzi AKA DesertDanceOctober 5, 2013

Our tree is in the back 40, way down the hill. But I see this pale orange color on the fruit. Soon it will be blazing orange!

First year with this inherited tree on land we purchased in January. Paper bags around the fruit? Wedding net? What?

How do I save them until they ripen?

Bird netting over the top, rat traps at the base of the tree.

All the big-box stores sell both.

I've already picked a bunch. If they are turning color, they will ripen off the tree and be protected. Penny
