Not quite in north Orange County, but about 20 miles inland.

I live in Upland, CA at the top of Euclid Ave, a historic street that is lined with hundreds and hundreds of California Peppers. Here is a picture looking north of the top 7 miles of the street with trees that were already large in 1885. The trees continue south from this point for several miles toward Chino.

Woodbridge in Irvine has a street (in MIT Great Streets book) called Pinewood that is lined with peppers, one of which took exception to a brand new BMW and cleaved it today. It was quite large and the roots were spongy. The Santa Ana we are experiencing encouraged this. No injuries.
