I'm thinking of taking out all my brick edging and replacing it with little boxwood bushes. Lots and lots of boxwood bushes! I would keep it as a low hedge. Much like an english garden. I need A LOT of 'em! Anyone have any luck propagating clippings? I don't mind if it takes me a couple years to get it as I really want it, and without having to spend a small fortune to do this.

I have propagated snowball bushes before with great success. Any tips and advice welcome.

Cami, you might have better luck with dwarf ilex vomitoria.

Dear Cami,
"Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker." Boxwood is easy to propagate, but very slow growing. If you root small boxwood cuttings for your landscaping project, you will be rocking on the retirement home's front porch before those boxwoods are large enough to make a showing in your garden. Shell out the cash to buy nursery-grown boxwoods; or as Dottie suggested, use some other shrub that doesn't take a lifetime to attain a little size.
