Dormant spray fruit trees

bfreeman_sunset20(Ca 9b vta co)November 24, 2006

The label on fungicides like copper and daconil always say to make your first dormant application before first fall rains. The problem I always see is the leaves havent fallen before first rain! What to do?

Just wait until they fall. Timing isn't that critical. I never get around to it until January.

UC Davis has a really nice California-centric calendar for timing spraying here in California. I find that books I read assume a northeast or midwest climate, which we don't have.

Here is a link that might be useful: Fruit tree care calendar for California
