Al's "gritty mix" saved my jade!

Pallas_AthenaJuly 22, 2014

I posted to this forum several weeks ago about a rescued gollum jade losing 2/3 of its leaves after being watered once. Many of you suggested that I repot it immediately in Al's gritty mix and to substitute with Foliage Pro, and I must say--you were right! It has been two weeks since the transfer and it is doing incredibly well. There is healthy, fast-growing new growth all over every branch, and the green/red tip coloration is starting to return after lots of time spent out in the hot summer sun. I'm so pleased with the results, and so glad I didn't have to throw it away! Thanks for all the sage advice.

Great job! Glad you could save a Jade plant. It is amazing how quickly they can bounce back isn't it?

Just like Mike, i struggled with jades until i put them in the gritty mix. I haven't lost one since the switch.
