What I Want For Christmas....

wcgypsy(10 / Sunset 23)December 24, 2012

Two more days
I can hardly wait

Maybe for Christmas
I'll get a new gate

Or those pots I've been wanting,
No, wait

Perhaps more lilies
Mine met their fate

Or new garden gloves
Those old ones I hate

I want so much
But I'd settle for Crocs

Yeah, I'll get the usual...
More socks.......

Shopping, wrapping, gifting--what a pain--
A true-hearted gardener will settle for rain!

When I was a teen,
I smiled with joy
A big bag of peat moss!
More fun than a toy.

My mom actually squeezed that 2 cu ft bag under the tree with a big bow. I was into growing flowers from seed when I first started gardening.

When I was first married, I told my husband what I wanted for Mother's Day....a rototiller....he asked, "seriously?"
I said, "Oh, yeah..very seriously"

Some of us must have a little too much time on our hands, what with the rain and all....

Uh huh.....I love the winter because I don't have to be out there constantly watering lately and taking care of things. It foces us to take some time off, or at least, an excuse to. Take some time to start to feel enthusiastic about Spring when it rolls around...re-energized maybe.
