when to plant dalhias

Is it too early to plant dalhias in western N.C.?

My tubers have large sprouts and I'm anxious to get them into the ground.

Now would be a good time to get them in the ground. My dahlias that overwintered in the ground are 3-5" high now and all danger of frost or freeze is past.
