ECHEVERIA propagation

i'm very interested with the whole concept of propagation so i thought I would try with my echeveria.
Can anyone tell me if this is considered a "clean cut"

Now do you just leave it out or do you stick the cut end in moist soil to get roots?

Keep itin indirect light and mist it . One can put it insoil , but dry soil lightly misted till the roots appear.
