want to get cow manure

anyone know of a place near Durham where I can get some free cow manure? i just need enough for my garden

I am in the Piedmont and so I do not have a location close to you. I wanted to point out that if this is your first time trying cow manure, you may have a problem with the odor and "burning" of your plants. Horse manure has less odor, but in either case, you probably want to add the manure in early spring and till it in with some lime so it has time to decompose some before you plant in it. I buy composed cow manure from a commercial facility locally. You might check for that in your area or see if you can buy bulk at a local nursery. Already composed manures are odor free and garden ready.
