Can Lavender Provence handle Palm Desert?

Can Lavender, especially the French Provence live happily in the Palm Desert? Super hot summer and the lack of winter. Would more frequent irrigation help?

I don't see any reason why it would not do well for you. It does not require winter chilling and certainly takes summer heat well. Our neighbor grew lavender as a commercial crop for several years before selling her ranch and moving to Oregon. When I asked her why she was leaving she said" it is to dam hot here" but it never was for her lavender which flourished. Al

You are right, if they don't winter chill, chances are good. I saw lots of roses doing well there, always thought roses need some winter chill but they seems to be happy.
