Cold Tolerance?

debbiecz3(z3MB)September 11, 2007

I am new to clivia and have had my first plant outside on my shaded porch for the summer. Night time temps are now falling to 8-4* C. How cool will they tolerate or should I bring inside now?

No frost! If your going to keep it cool (>2ºC), keep it dry. Those are exactly the conditions it needs to trigger flower bud formation. Nighttime temperatures need to be below 10ºC for at least a month & you should then see the flower spike growing.
