Stapelia leendertziae

marquest(z5 PA)July 25, 2013

A few years ago someone sent me these stinky plants and I thought I had the usually yellow because that is all that had bloomed this year I get this red bud and it was a nice surprise.

and to prove it stinks.....the flies did not even move when I picked the plant up and set I in the chair so I could get a pic without laying on the patio on my back.

OooEee, I love that plant! I supposedly got a cutting in trade long ago, but it turned out to be something I had already. Talk about bummed! Thanks for showing us your beautiful plant & bloom! =o)

Very nice!! Congrats. I only started looking at Stapeliads in all seriousness last year, now I have about 30 species, and not all smell bad, one of the hybrids even had a sweet smell...imagine that. Anyway, they do tend to stink their way into one's heart, and before you know it a new collection is born. Congrats again!
