new to clivias -- care of seedlings

amazindirt(7A mid-TN)October 7, 2006

Hello all --

I am about to become the proud parent of several variegated clivia seedlings. I've never grown clivias before, so I looked up several pages on cultivation. I know the basics -- bright indirect light, cool temps, not too much water, and so on. But none of the pages I found was specific for seedlings. So -- any advice on how to keep BABY clivias happy over the winter? Any input would be welcomed!

It will be very similar to grown plants. Maybe little more moist (not wet!!) Once the seed has dried up you can start to fertilize with weak solution fertilizer. Look out for 'damping off'. It is a desease. Spray with a suitable fungiside. Leave until the 3/4 leaf stage befor you transplant. See the link below. hope it helps.
