help with Avocado Lace Bug on Calomondin

ReneLMarch 27, 2011

Hello. I am new to the forum and am hoping to find a remedy here. I am experimenting with growing a dwarf Calamondin in a container indoors. I ave had it about 2 months. I notciced brownish track marks on a few leaves. Someone familiar with citrus told me it looks like the damage from Avocado Lace Bugs laying eggs.

I recently treated it with Nemotodes for what I thought were fungus gnats. Otherwise the tree looks healthy. Has new growth since I purchased it. Leaves look nice and green. I notice a few leaves seem mid-shaped. Wasn't sure if this was a sign of some problem.

Is anyone familiar with this bug infestng citrus? I have searched online but only see info for the pest on avocado trees? I live in Northern Calif.

I would appreciate your help. Thanks.

We've had lace bugs on our avocados for many years, but I've never seen one on a citrus tree. I really think you must have something else going on with the citrus.

Renee, can you post some photos of your damaged leaves? It could be CLM (Citrus Leaf Miner), which is an ongoing issue with us here in California, both north and south.
