Sweet potato vine - sun or shade?

Twinkle(7 GA)March 15, 2004

I bought a couple of lime green sweet potato vines to put in a pot with some impatiens and ivy. The pot will get mostly shade. Have I made a mistake? Does the sweet potato vine need sun? No care instructions came with the plants.

I have grown it in both conditions. It prefers sun and will grow like crazy in sun. Growth will be slower in shade but I was happy with the containers I had of it in sun and in shade.

I have both the purple and lime colored vines and they are in partial/spotted shade and I'm happy with them. I'm sure yours will do great
