Japanese Iris

karen64(6b)March 22, 2013

Maybe this is the year to tackle the growing Iris issue. Not shown, but I half bury a large planter to the corner/front of the Iris, when they are done blooming and their leaves begin to get ratty, I put a bushy plant in the planter to sortof hide the leaves. I already plant Sedums in front of the Peony - for me the sedums just get growing when the Peony are done. The Iris population is now huge, a great show in Spring but looks like a hot mess come summer.

Gorgeous clump of Siberian iris. When the foliage begins to yellow you can cut it back half way and when that yellows cut it to the ground.
