Chappell Hill Lantana

dinajean(upstate SC -Zone 7b)July 6, 2011

Got me this yellow Lantana this year..I have already a pink/yellow and a red/orange that have been coming back year after year even though it's an "ANNUAL"". Wonder if anyone has experience with the Chappell Hill Yellow, just wondering if it is as hardy as my others and can I expect to enjoy it next year???

Thanks in advance for any comments.

I've had mixed results with Chapel Hill Yellow. There is also a Chapel Hill Gold now. I do not find them as reliable as Miss Huff. I use them as a border in one of my beds and have half of them come back each year.

Not as reliable as Miss Huff. One came back the following year looking like Miss Huff and not solid yellow.

Miss Huff is the only one that has REALLY come back like gangbusters for me. Miss Huff also gets taller and more bushy than many others that tend to just spread out like a ground cover. Here is a link to more info on what has done well in Carolina.

I have 'Ham and Eggs' and 'Athens Rose' that return. Very late to show any green at the base in early summer. I do not cut back the ugly stems over the winter. I wait for the basal foliage to show up. Shrub-size.
