diablo nine barks

I'm looking for a low growing shrub to cover the nakedness of my nine barks. Nine barks bloom late in spring and need something to be used like a skirt around them. But nothing requiring full sun (just partial). TIA,

I'd suggest potentillas as they can take part shade.
