It is starting again - brown leaves at the bottom of my gorgeous clematis plants, which won't be that way long, if I cannot stop it. What do I do? I'm an organic gardener.
Would appreciate your help, thanks!

"Brownlegs" which is the term used for what you are experiencing isn't uncommon nor it is detrimental to the survival of your clematis..this is common for some clematis to do this...usually more towards summertime..as the soil drys out and the leaves lose their moisture from not enough watering...remember to keep your clematis roots moist...also planting something that grows low with uninvasive roots will hide this ..I like planting Vinca's,Daylilies,Blue Daze or Begonias in front of mine...Jeanne
ps...what zone are you in?
