can I let them bloom the 1st year?

njmomma(z6 NJ)May 3, 2010

I keep reading to pinch them back to develop bigger root systems but does this mean I won't have any blooms the first year? How about the 2nd year?

Can I at least let one vine grow and bloom and pinch the others back?

Natanya..Yes INDULGE YOURSELF hon and let them bloom to get to see what your heart desires and then prune above the 2nd leaf axil..it won't hurt your plant and you'll be satisfied to finally see what the fuss is all about...Jeanne
