How to root cuttings from Sweet Autumn Clematis?

Cricket_Love(4b)June 29, 2011

I had to hack mine back quite a bit today, and I feel awful! I have a BUNCH of cuttings and would like to try and save them. How would I go about rooting these poor fellas?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

TIA!

Cricket,
I grow Sweet Autumn and unless you dug up the roots, it will be back and be fine. It may even bloom this year. It is pretty tricky to root clematis cuttings, but if you do a search on rooting cuttings you can find some good info on older posts.
