Can someone tell what kind of cactus this is??

pigletcompany(Ohio)August 7, 2012

Someone gave me a bag of this cactus. I have no idea what it is. All I know is that it gets yellow flowers. Can anyone help?

Thank you,

Carla

Carla,

Certainly an Opuntia (fun fact - they're the cactus genus with the largest range) and it might be O. humifusa if it's cold-hardy.

Hello, how long is the biggest pad and how cold does it get where these were acquired. People are looking for different types of cold hardy prickly pears. Could be O. humifusa like someone mentioned earlier. Thanks
