Suggestions on a 3' tall clematis

melaroma(6)June 18, 2011

I ordered a trellis thinking that it was 5 or 6 feet tall only to find that it is actually 3' and 7" tall. I would like to plant a small clematis on it and would like a group 2 or if not a group 1 clematis. I currently have a jackmanii and a piilu on the left bed in the front of my house. Seeing as there is an overhang on the right side I was thinking that it would be perfect to plant the shorter one on that side. I'm fond of the idea of one that blooms twice thus group 2 but am not opposed to an early one. My bed consists of pinks, whites and purples.

Piluu is short, will bloom twice and fits with your color scheme. It's probably easy to find as well, either locally or online.
