Trimming sucker growth from meyer lemon
I have a Meyer that has a sucker branch growing about a foot from the soil line and about two feet from the rest of the canopy. I want to remove it because it will add nothing to the shape of the tree and just looks bad. It is about six inches long. Is there any reason that I should not remove it? Tree is fruiting a looks healthy.
If I trim it, would it be a good candidate for a rooted cutting.
