Hi Folks -

I am looking for suggestions on evergreen holly varieties which offer the most copious production of red berries for my USDA Zone 7A landscape.

Many thanks for your assistance.

Definitely look into Foster hollies.

Female English holly varieties (Ilex aquifolium) fruit well. For best results, plant a male American holly anywhere within several hundred feet of the chosen female in exactly the same light conditions so that both blossom at the same time for maximum pollination. Also, in Zone 7 male hollies are common in the wild to help with pollination.

It is not necessary to let the male holly grow to full height. It can be trimmed and controlled just after its spring bloom period ends if desired, once its stud duties have ceased for the year.
