white fungus or bug on lemon tree

downtownsbJune 30, 2012

In the past few weeks this stuff has been growing on the underside of the leaves of our lemon tree. Its white and has an almost flaky texture. Here are links to the pictures. Thanks in advance for the help.

looks like mealy bug; if you only have one tree, I would opt for physical removal, i.e., washing it off and in general giving the whole plant a good washing at least once a week; it goes a long way to reducing such things.

Much more likely to be woolly whitefly.

Jean is probably right; the treatment is the same.
