I'm curious as to what characteristics make it different from an Atlas Cedar? I never could tell them apart except for maybe silhouette, and that doesn't show in this picture at all as far as I can see. What am I not seeing?

Quite right - there aren't any reliable distinctions between them. Genetically, the difference is fairly small, too, only about a third of the genetic difference between Lebanon Cedar and Deodar Cedar. That's why I for one treat Atlas Cedar as just a subspecies of Lebanon Cedar, not a separate species.
