Is there such a thing as annual clametis? A friend gave me a vine in the spring and said it was called annual clametis. It has grown very well and is said to have Pink flowers. The leaves are small [compaired to morning glory] and heart shape. help Paula

No, all Clematis are perennials.

Did your friend mean herbaceous clematis? These die down in winter but the root is perennial and the plant will return the next year.

After reading a little + looking on the vine forum I found out this plant is a potato vine, [invasive] It doesn't bloom lovely pink flowers like I was told but has these Potato looking things. The leaves are very pretty, glossy and heart shape. It was a good learning experiance for me. Ha Ha Happy gardening Paula
