Liverwort? ID

jcsgreenthumb(6b)March 8, 2007

This is another picture of the plant I posted earlier. I hope it is clearer. It is growing next to a stream in part shade.

I do think it is a liverwort. We are at about 2200 ft. in the mountains of western NC.

Any help IDing it is appreciated.

Hi. Maybe 2 years too late but, I believe it's a liverwort too. I'm on the West Coast and it looks like Snake Liverwort (Conocephalum conicum)to me. Maybe it's the same in NC?

I hope this helps!
