One of my cutest plants! What's one of yours?

meyermike_1micha(5)October 14, 2012

I was looking at this one this naming, thinking how cute it is but I wish I could put a name to it. It's only in a one inch pot and about 6 inches tall.

Thanks again to the very kind person here whom sent it to me in the spring:-)

It was starting coloring up nicely until the rains moved in. It almost reminded me of a tiny weird looking Christmas Tree.

Do you have a cute plant in your collection?

Mike

I had several, but Id say my funky haworthia is pretty cute.
By the way, yours is a Sedum, Jellybean Plant I believe its called.

Your sedum is very cute, Mike. My contribution is more curiosity than cute. It's a tiny CC or TC, I'm not sure which. I got a bag of mixed cuttings several years ago, and this one has been hanging around but not doing much. I repotted it this spring and it started to grow. I hope it is CC and not TC, but the green with red edges is pretty no matter what it decides to do. Hoping for a blossom this year, but not expecting it.

Ime....That is a very cute looking cutting. It doesn't look like a T.C but more like a E.C to me. It could also be a C.C.
I'll bet someone will be along to identify real soon. But whatever it is, you are right, beautiful red edges!

Thanks for the pic and comments.

Greenlarry..How are things? I would love to see a pic of your haworthia, some can be quite unique looking. Thank you for naming my plant.

The cactus, lme5573, looks to me kinda like . Easter cactus! Easily turns that red-ish hue. Thick bloomer, which is great, and a little bit of a trailing habit.

I have no idea of the species or cultivar but it was emergency potted into garden soil one winter after the greenhouse died, and just left. Recently I got my interest back and so repotted it in compost mixed with cheap cat litter. Has to be the cheap stuff, not the fancy stuff loaded with chemicals.

Thanks, teatree. I hadn't seriously considered EC, but it does resemble the plant in your link. I didn't know EC looked like yours, I think of EC like the modern ones, all green and shiny, or hairy like the one my Grandmother gave me. I'll post some pix in another thread since I don't want to hijack Mike's thread.

Mi, pray for sunshine, will you? I love that jade. In fact, Chris here gave me a couple of these litte guys and boy can they turn a nice color. I hope to see it when it does. Nice.

Sorry I can't post a photo, the cuteness would be easier to see than envision through my words. I have a zz plant leaflet that sprouted, I've put it in a 1.25 inch pot. Hubby says it's "Cute." I'd post a photo but my camera has died.

After some debate with my partner in crime we both agreed cute to mean "tiny". A second debate was about a tiny plant or a tiny flower. There was no clear winner to debate #2

First item of debate is a tiny plant in a smaller than a bic pen on all sides staging.

Adromischus Marianae Herrei

Second item of debate is the small flower

Euphorbia Obesea: Note to the other posted and also a good debate as well. E obesea and my understanding is that males have a flower coloring of orange/yellow female flower is pinkish/red.

Link for E.obesea info and sexes

E. Obesea can sometimes change sex it is not very common as a single or as a set of both M and F in cultivation to change sex. It is more common amongst many of them in an area for some of them to change sexes from F to M or M to F.

Baby Sansevierias that grew for me from a Rhizome that I forgot in a pot.

They started out as the tiniest of green specks (was in a thread I posted here called something like "Check twice before Throwing it Out").

w/ my finger to show scale

baby Schlumbergera seedling (Thankgiving Cactus).

Richard B -- this is thanks to you, I'd never seen this before.

& since I knocked it over (in messing w/ it), I thought it'd be interesting to see it alone, out of mix.

I like that even when tiny, it's gotten distinct segments already & nice little roots too.

I enjoy wacky experiments like these.

Hey Mike! I recognize that Sedum, looking very nice. You take such great care of your plants.
I liked the idea of this thread so I went out to look for my cutest plant and found more than a few. I hope you don't mind my not being able to choose just one.

Colleen, your multiceps looks terrific! I haven't had much time to post lately but I saw your Haw thread and your plants are looking gorgeous as ever.

Noki, very nice Psuedolithos! Is it migiurtinus? I tried them from seed but couldn't get them past 6 months. The pups will continue to grow fine until some brave soul has the courage to remove one and root it... or put it in a box with my name on it, you know, whatever.

Here are my cutest plants.

I thought this was a tiny Pachyphytum but I can't seem to ID it.

Crassula alstonii, basking in the morning light.

Sedum hernandezii, I could be wrong but I think they're all boys!

Lithops hookeri doing its best Troll Doll impression

Glottiphyllum linguiforme and to boost the cuteness factor, real baby feet!

Thank you and goodnight!

Your old lady might have babies with those two old men in the same pot. Sounds kinky tome.

All kidding aside, they will slowly make a pup or two off the main columns but they seem to grow ever so slowly or mine do. One might give them a bit of room if you are worried about that. Or just ignore it and if they crowd, then one can deal with it later.
