jade cuttings a year on and empty sleeves

deep___roots(ca9/sunset15)October 28, 2013

This is your basic jade in the big bowl. Some big cuttings that are looking pretty good. I think that this was one big branch that I laid flat. The leaves got a little sun scorched earlier in the Summer so I tucked this bowl under the shade of this large jade below.

This large jade I got for free earlier this year because they were tearing down the house it was on the porch of. And I was johnny on the spot and I just happened to have my hand cart with me ... funny how that happens! It is flowering now. I like to call those dried up branches "empty sleeves". Isn't it interesting how they hollow out but still stay on the plant for a while? Originally frost damage perhaps?

Speaking of which, I am busy now moving my C & S to Winter quarters.

Very nice progress in one year!
Colorful Compact Jades in the clay pot in the back, I assume?
Those empty sleeves could certainly be from frost.
