Abies ? "Sicilian Gold"

clement_2006March 14, 2014

Some years ago, I received 1 scion of Abies nebrodensis "Sicilian Gold" now, more I look this plant, more I'm sure it's not a cultivar from abies nebrodensis.
But probably from Abies veitchii or similar.
I don't understand how is possible to mix a european species with asian species ! It's crazy.
I'm curious to know where the plant are found ?

Abies ? "Sicilian Gold"
Maybe Abies veitchii "Sicilian Gold"

Needles would be thicker on Abies veitchii, and the buds are different to my eye...

Clément, this cultivar was found by Robert Aebel and introduced in the past by Collector's Nursery in 2002.
