Are the flowers on Meyer Lemon trees supposed to look like this?

thesandykansanAugust 14, 2014

I'm a novice gardener... I bought this tree about 6 weeks ago (it says the "bud date" is 3/12/12, so I guess that means it's 2.5 years old??). We were very happy to see a couple of weeks ago that it produced very pretty white flowers, but then just days later, the flowers began to look like they were dying - and now they look like this - was that supposed to happen?! Thanks in advance!

Totally normal! The flowers dry up and then the lemons start growing! Depending on how big your tree is you might want to remove the lemons and let the tree focus on growing more leaves and branches.

Normal. The flowers have done their work; and the BB size green thing at the bottom of the white pistil is the newly formed fruit. The remains of the flower will soon fall off or you can brush them off, or shake them off, if you prefer.
