help with mushroom identification

Hey all,

My co-worker wanted help identifying this mushroom so i uploaded some pics below.

She said its very hard ... Not sure what it is, but thought I'd post to gardenweb community to try and help us identify:

Definitely a Ganoderma, a polypore mushroom, and if you are west of the Rockies it is most likely Ganoderma oregonense. These mushrooms have a red, lacquer-like appearance when young but the color fades in older specimens, like yours. Ron

Thanks i was really curious about this mushroom...

Are you sure its that variety, i thought they feed on wood, but its growing on rocks.
