Separate? or leave alone?

AnitaDeasonJuly 6, 2013

I purchased 2 beautiful ferns last yr at Farmer's Market. One has done great and the other has done this, do I need to break off the dead part and hope that the rest comes back? This was a huge plant and very full. I want to be able to get it back to the previous state and do not know what to do.

I would cut away (not break) all of the dead stuff and replant the remaining sections in a smaller pot with fresh soil.
