I am Transplanting Australian Tree Fern from someone elses house and wondering on how to go about doing it . The tree is about 6 feet of trunk plus fronds . I am in san diego, Ca . Would it be better to cut the existing fronds off ? etc . etc. thanks for any info .

Easy as pie Brian. Trim off worn fronds, dig as large a rootball as you can move.Plant in hole amended with water retentive compost or polymers and never allow to dry out.Add vitamin B-1.
And make sure you wear long sleaves and hat-the hairs on C.cooperii are irritating more or less to how sensitive you are to those things. Some people can't keep that fern their allergys react so badly.
