How to transition from soil to gritty mix

organic_flutterby(5 MO)August 20, 2013

My 2 potted citrus are in the same soil that I bought them in. I want to repot them into gritty mix.

What steps should I take to transition them from the soil to the gritty mix?

I've read that I should bare-root the trees first. Is this right? How is this done exactly?

Is this an ok time of year to repot them?

Thank you!

I'd recommend going over to the Container forum and first searching for 'repotting' posts, then posting if you can't find your answers from existing material there.
