male ferns

kennym_2010September 26, 2010

Ive seen on web sites where Male ferns are reported as evergreen or "half-evergreen". Can't find what is meant by half-evergreen. Can some one explain half-evergreen is. Im in zone 6 if that means anything as to how it would apply.

Probably means that the leaves persist but are mostly replaced in the spring depending on the severity of the winter. The term semi-evergreen is more commonly used.
