Michaela(z6+ TN)September 4, 2012

Can someone please help me identify this lichen? It was found growing on wood here in east Tennessee. Is it a Cladina species? Thanks much.

Look like classic Usnea to me, exact species I don't know. Pull apart a major stem and it should have a stretchy white core.
