storing daffodil stems

barb5March 26, 2012

For those of you who sell, I'm wondering how you store your daffodil stems until sale day.

This is the first year I have a cooler. I know to pick them in the gooseneck stage, but I only have sales one day a week and need to store the stems. I'm wondering if you store them in water, or dry, and if dry, do you store them upright or lying down?

Also, when you pick them, do you cut the stem or pull from the bulb?

Thank you for any help you can give me, I very much apppreciate it.

I think you need to get the right levels of humidity as well.

What ended up working for you?
