Overwintering potted asparagus fern

starrlight97October 10, 2007

I have a healthy potted asparagus fern and wonder what I should do with it for the winter. I plan to get a plant light for some of my herbs. Should I just throw it under the light with the rest? Thank you for your help!

P.S. I did read that this plant is not a true fern, but I couldn't figure out what other topic to post it under.

There is a Houseplant Forum, in case you're interested.

If you have a bright location in your home, this plant can transition to the indoors after a rather severe defoliation period. If it were my plant, I would cut it back heavily before moving it in to avoid some of the mess.
