Anyone try a Square Foot approach to a cutting garden?

minkies(8)March 28, 2014

I garden square foot style and this year am planning in using my pumpkin box for cutting flowers. Has anyone tried this or have any suggestions. I am a complete beginner in the flower area but I love fresh flowers in the house.

I tried it with herbs in a little bed- To be honest- I didn't go very many square feet- But what I did plant was very successful. It is planted tight so there are no weeds to compete. I am answering your post because as I was examining this bed a few weeks ago- I wondered to myself why I didn't just plant the whole bed that way so I wouldn't be contending with the weeds on the other side. I think it is a great idea !
