HELP! Scale and mealybugs on staghorn....

emilyg(z5 Chicago)December 20, 2006

Is there a good way to get rid of these critters? I have scraped them off the leaves, but I can see tons of them in the basal plates if I peel one gently back. But I can't get at them all because the basal leaves are so dense and packed together.

Is there a temperature where the bugs would be killed but not the plant?

Please help
