I've never grown any Barberries, but I saw a pretty one at Home Depot today called 'Orange Rocket.' I saw Barberries listed on a website of plants used for cut arrangements so can anyone tell me anything about it? How long does it last in water? What varieties are good? How fast does it grow?

I'm not brave enough to find out. Those wicked thorns say Hands Off! to me and I'm afraid that my customers wouldn't appreciate getting stabbed when they try to change the vase water. I know we could use gloves, but I don't think that's a sales pitch that will exactly suck the buyers in.

I bet they would look pretty cool, though.

Thinman, thanks for pointing that out. I might try some in my own personal arrangements.
