Kaffir Lime leaf issue

krismast(6 S.E. PA)September 10, 2013

My kaffir lime has been doing great so far this summer. A couple of weeks ago I noticed a leaf would get these spots that looked bleached out and then a few days later the leaf would drop. What do you think is causing this?

Have you used any foliar sprays of any kind? Are you having a lot of rain right now?

Hi Patty,

No foliar sprays or rain. In fact, we are starting to dry out here after a very rainy summer.

Any other ideas? Here are some more pictures I took this morning.

Kris,

You can keep bumping this up; but my guess is we just don't know with the info you have given us. My best guess would be something like a snail or slug. If it were mine I would just snip off those leaves and concentrate on the rest of the tree.

If you have not treated it with a systemic insecticide and a systemic fungicide, I would recommend that.

Mine seemed to attract spiders and stink bugs, and I've seen a few leaf issues, but not worried. More concerned about scale over winter (inside).
