Abies koreana cones......

....are the first Abies species to 'pop' in my area....probably 1-2 weeks ahead of A. fraseri, but all are well ahead of normal flowering dates.

My Abies koreana 'Horstmann's Silberlocke' is not as happy as your koreana is - not much happening here as yet. Very nice to see what is possible, though!

(I think that the name of my cultivar has changed but I can't remember what the new name is. I rather like the old name, anyway. :p )

I always had in mind that a "young cone" is a conelet...
Beautiful pics!
I've seen Abies koreana conelets in several colours like red, yellow and green...

Holly, you're perfectly right with 'Horstmann's Silberlocke' which mostly is sold under just 'Silberlocke'.
'Silberlocke' is German for "silver curls".
