Sunflowers- Help I have no idea

gardenweasel2009July 16, 2009

I planted 300 sunflowers and don't know where to cut. Some are multibranched and have such short stems. Bah, i feel I have wasted so much time and effort. Help

If you cut the terminal flower to whatever stem length you desire, the lower branch flowers should develop longer stems. If you planted a variety like the Pro-Cuts, they are meant as a one flower plant. I cut them off at the ground.
You could always just cut the terminal flower off the top and let the lower branches flower. Guess that depends on what purpose you want to use them for.
Can you advise which variety you grew.
