What is this

What's with this orbea? I originally thought this bloom had been pollinated but it's remained like this for at least 3 weeks. The only change was that the stem thickened. All the other spent blooms dried up, stem and bloom. When I've had pods in the past they have continued growing. This thing hasn't changed.

If the stem keeps growing, it probably providing nutrients to what is soon to be a seed pod

I thought it was going to be a pod but it's just stopped growing. It's been unchanged for almost a month. The stem fattened up pretty quick. I've had seed pods on stapelias and orbeas in the past and they've never just done nothing. The only time I've seen them unchanged is when the pod has reached full size and is ripening.
