Problem with Dahila's getting cold.

legend159(5)April 22, 2013

We started our Dahlias in pots to be planted when the threat of cold weather had passed and had them in our greenhouse where we had an electric heater keeping the greenhouse warm at night. The other night the circuit breaker to the heater tripped and the dahlias where wilted in the morning. Is there anything I can do to save them or are they junk now and have to start over with new tubers. We are new to dahlia's any help would be greatly appreciated.

How cold was it? In order to kill a tuber the tuber has to freeze. More likely it is just the green foliage that was nipped. They should do fine.
